Welcome to **Reminiscence**. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle and protect your personal data when you use the Reminiscence mobile application ("App").


## 1. Overview

Reminiscence is a mobile application that allows you to import and browse your personal Instagram messages through a clean interface with advanced search functionality. All data remains on your device.


## 2. Data We Collect

We do **not** collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All processing occurs locally on your device.

- The App accesses the ZIP file you export from Instagram only when you choose to import it.  
- Data is stored locally in encrypted form using a password you provide.  
- We do not collect usernames, passwords, device identifiers, or any other personal information.


## 3. How Your Data Is Used

Your data is:

- Used only for displaying and searching messages within the App  
- Encrypted and saved in a private **.rem** file format  
- Never shared, uploaded, or transmitted externally  
- Deleted from the original ZIP after import


## 4. Encryption and Security

- An encryption key is generated using your password.  
- Messages and media are encrypted and stored securely on your device.  
- No data is transmitted to external servers.


## 5. Internet Access

- The App works entirely offline.  
- Internet access is used only to load Instagram reels.  
- If offline, the reels section will remain inactive.


## 6. Advertising

- The App currently contains no advertisements.  
- If ads are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.  
- Any data shared with ad networks will be disclosed transparently.


## 7. Children’s Privacy

Reminiscence is **not intended for children under the age of 13**.  
We do not knowingly collect or process data from children.


## 8. Data Retention

- All data remains solely on your device.  
- Deleting the App or the **.rem** file will remove your data permanently.  
- We do not store any data on remote systems or cloud services.


## 9. Source Code

- Reminiscence is an **open-source** application.  
- The App's source code is available under the Apache License 2.0.  
- The Reminiscence name, logo, icon, screenshots, and other brand assets remain owned by the developer and are not licensed for reuse without permission.


## 10. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store user data, we are unable to process data-related requests such as access, deletion, or correction.  
You have full control over your data on your own device.


## 11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.  
The most current version will always be available within the App.  
We encourage you to review it periodically.
